A Special Invitation to Join Us:

  • We offer positive, spiritually-based tools to better equip you to face the challenges of everyday life.

  • We welcome everyone into our spiritual community regardless of race, ethnic background, or sexual orientation.

  • We teach that each of us is "created in the image and after the likeness of God," (Gen. 1:27) and is therefore inherently good.

  • Our focus is a Christian one.  However, we also believe that there are many paths to God, and that all roads which lead to God are good.

  • We teach that Jesus is "the great example" rather than "the great exception."  Instead of worshiping Jesus, we do our best to learn from him and to follow him.

  • The God we teach is not one of judgment but of everlasting and unconditional love.

  • We teach that Heaven and Hell are current-day states of mind and heart, and that Jesus taught us how to live in Heaven now by living a life of compassion and forgiveness.

Membership in Unity

A decision to join any group or organization carries with it special personal meaning.  This is particularly true when the decision is made to join a Spiritual community. Membership may then signify a person’s wish to become engaged with the Spiritual community, and is often seen as a very personal expression of commitment and a  dedication to service in the community.

However, it is not necessary to become a member in order to experience this degree of association; everyone who attends Unity is honored equally whether or not they are actual members.

If you desire to become a member of Unity of Charlotte, an Orientation to Unity class is required. These classes are held every other month and are also open to anyone who wants to learn more about Unity of Charlotte and  Unity as a worldwide organization.  If you are already a member of a Unity Church and want to transfer your membership, a meeting with  the minister for information about Unity of Charlotte is required.

While you can be a supporter of Unity of Charlotte and not become a member, membership is required to serve as a Prayer Chaplain, a Healer, and a member of the Board of Trustees. All members have an individual vote which they may exercise at the annual meeting, and other specially called meetings, to elect members to the Board of Trustees, make amendments to the bylaws, and  vote on issues related to the church property.  All memberships are renewed every three years.

For more information about membership at Unity of Charlotte and what it can mean to you, please contact the minister or a member of the Membership Ministry Team.
