The Real Nature of God

God is explained in Unity Principle #1. It describes the nature of God. There are several versions of Principle #1 describing nearly the same thing. Some of the following may be a bit repetitive, but perhaps there is a thought here that will speak to you best.

Our essence and energy is of God; we are all inherently good. This God essence is expressed in all of us, in the Earth and in the entire Universe. We are co-creators with God, creating reality through thoughts held in mind and feelings and sensations held in the heart. Through prayer and meditation, we align our heart-mind with God.

Affirmations are tools we use. Through our thoughts, words and actions, we live the Truth we know and we daily choose how we will experience our life. Here’s the list of principles from “The Five Principles”, by Ellen Debenport, Unity author:

  • God is all there is; absolute good, active in everyone, everything and everywhere.

  • There is only one Presence and one Power active as the universe and in my life. God, the Good—Omnipotent.

  • God is the source and creator of all. There is no other power. God is good and present everywhere.

  • God is Spirit, Source of all Creation, Love in Being, perfect Unity in all existence. Source, Spirit and Love exist everywhere, and IT is All That Is.

  • God is absolute good, everywhere present.

Other sources have:
God is good without opposite.
There is no other power.
God is omnipotence—all power.
God is omniscience—all wisdom.
God is omnipresent—there is no place that God is not.
Since God is omnipresent, we cannot be separated from God. Oneness is our natural state.
God is all good and active in everything, everywhere. (This is the kids version)

God is “principle”—not a person that is separate from us. Here’s a metaphysical version of God: “IT IS.” Edgar Cayce said that IT became aware of ITSELF and then IT moved. This action created awareness, space-volume, and time-duration—everything all at once. Mathematics is an example of “principle” being everywhere. For example, where is 2+2 not = 4?

Here’s more that might help create a more comfortable awareness of God’s true nature. This poem was inspired by the message given to Unity of Charlotte, by Rev. Lisa Herklotz on June 25, 2023.

All of Everything

I AM every where,

I AM every when,

I AM every now,

I AM every then.

I AM every one,

I AM every place,

I AM every thing,

I AM every face.

I AM every how,

I AM every what,

I AM every who,

I AM every which.

I AM all of time,

I AM all there is.

I AM you and me,

And everybody else.

I AM all creation,

I AM all of space,

I AM all distance,

I AM all within.

I created opposition,

I created agreement,

I created anger.

I created judgment,

I created love,

I created attraction,

I created action,

I created procrastination.

I created Mother Nature,

I created Father Sky.

I did it just for fun.

Now you do know why.

No need to be perplexed...

What shall WE do next?
